Have you ever faced dishwasher problems when you have lots of dishes to clean? Actually, it creates a horrible situation in your kitchen. Like others, your Frigidaire dishwasher also faces power outage or system failure. But a simple reset can solve these problems. So, how do you reset a frigidaire dishwasher? To do that, you must have a clear idea about the error codes that are being displayed. Next, switch off the dishwasher or circuit breaker to reset your machine.
However, your dishwasher may not work properly for various reasons. Like-
- water is not in proper temperature.
- dishwasher fails to dry dishes.
- the machine won’t run.
- draining part is not working.
Your dishwasher may face different kinds of problems but you can’t stop. You have to clean your dishes. Otherwise, it will create an odor that makes your kitchen unhygienic.
Don’t worry! There are three options for you to reset your frigidaire. Let’s check-
Long Press the Cancel Button
It is a commonly used and most natural resetting process. Follow the steps below-
- Just long press the Cancel button for at least 3 seconds.
- Now, wait at least for five minutes and restart the machine.
- All programs and settings have been canceled. You can load new dishes and set new settings.
Shutting Off the Circuit Breaker
Shut off your dishwasher from the circuit breaker box. It will give your machine time for calibration. Please wait for a few minutes. I suggest you wait for at least 5 minutes. Now turn on the circuit breaker. This process resets all settings and programs and lets you load clothes and set the new programs.
When Reset is Mandatory for Frigidaire Dishwasher
Your Frigidaire dishwasher’s control panel includes a series of buttons, LEDs and a small digital display. If your machine face failure, the LEDs may stay on or the display flashes an error code:
- i10 – no enough water
- i20, i40, iFO – filters or drain line plugs or pinches are clogged
- i30 – leaks or overflows water in bottom drain pan
- i50 – problem with wash or drain motor
- i60 – problem with the hot water
- iC0 – main electronic control board problem
You must need a master reset to clear the lights or codes after solving the problems indicated in the display. Simply press the Start-Cancel button. If it doesn’t work for you, Shut Off the home’s circuit breaker or unplug your dishwasher from the socket for at least five minutes.
The error that was displayed should be cleared once you Turn the circuit breaker on or when you plugin it back with the electric panel. If your dishwasher still shows the error codes, you need to run an internal diagnostic mode.
To stat the diagnostic mode, press High-Temp and Start Cancel buttons at a time and hold them until the diagnostic test begins. When the indicator lights up near the top edge door control, release all buttons. You will notice “01” on the display that indicates that the test has been started.
Now allow a few minutes to your dishwasher for self-test for various components like drain pump, heating element, water fill, wash motor and more. While the test goes, you will hear the sound of individual components activation. If its self-test doesn’t get any problem, it will reset itself at the end of the diagnostic test.
On the other hand, if your Frigidaire dishwasher doesn’t reset and shows error codes in the display or LEDs stay on, the problem is with the electrical or mechanical functions. If your dishwasher still has a warranty, send it to its local customer service center. Otherwise, it is better to call an experienced repairman.
Final Verdict
The above-mentioned solution on how to reset a frigidaire dishwasher is not only practical but also recommended by Frigidaire. You should follow the first process to reset your dishwasher. If it fails then follow the second and third ones.
