KitchenAid is a reliable home appliance manufacturer. Like all other appliances their dishwashers last years after years. They hardly face not running or stuck problem. But it doesn’t mean that you need to call a repairman or you need to send it to the service center. There are various issues that have a strong contribution to not running or stuck problems. But you can solve these issues by resetting or rebooting them. If you are a new KitchenAid user, you should know how to reset KitchenAid dishwasher.

Quick Resetting Formula for KitchenAid Dishwasher

If a cycle doesn’t advance, light blinks or it faces power interruptions or it fails to run altogether, your dishwasher needs to be reset. A simple reboot can help your dishwasher to function properly. It includes turning off and turning on the power. A simple Cycle reset can also solve some problems. There is another option to reset your dishwasher’s control panel by pressing two buttons at a time.

Simple Reboot

It is the primary and the easiest method that can clear the memory of your machine. You can follow the steps below for a simple reboot.

  • Firstly, Turn Off the circuit breaker that supplies power to the dishwasher.
  • Unplug the unit from the electric outlet.
  • Wait a few minutes. But I suggest you wait for at least 5 minutes.
  • Plug it back to the electric outlet.
  • Turn on the circuit breaker and switch on your dishwasher. It is rebooted. Now, You can use it!

Cycle Reset

Do you simply want to reset a cycle? Ok, it is super easy. Just make a long press on the Cancel or Cancel Drain button. It will cancel and reset the running cycle. Then choose a new one according to your demand.

Control Panel Reset

If you connect your dishwasher with the electric outlet and turn on it but it doesn’t work then it is better to reset control panel program. You can do this by pressing two buttons five times one after another total of 10 presses. Before starting this process, make sure that the door is completely shut.

There are some dishwasher models that becomes reset when you press each button four times. But I suggest you press each button five times one after one and it will work for most of the models.

Firstly, press a button from Hi Temp, Hi Temp Scrub or Hi Temp Wash and then press Heated Dry, Energy Saver Dry or Air Dry button. Note: Buttons depends on the models you have.

When you press buttons, you will notice LEDs blink. At this time, the machine will go through various self-diagnostics tests like drain pump engaging or other activity and you will hear sounds of them. In this situation, don’t be panicked and don’t interrupt your machine. Allow your dishwasher to do its job automictically. It will take a few minutes.

When your machine completes self-assessment, press Cancel or Cancel-Drain button. It will start drain cycle that may take two or three minutes, depending on dishwasher’s model. When the drain cycle is completed, you will be able to start a new cycle.

Final Words

If you fail to reset your dishwasher even when the power connection is alright, it means your dishwasher is facing problems in the main control board or its fuse may have blown. It’s control panel board and fuses can be accessed and replaced by removing dishwasher’s door panel. But it is complicated and only can be done by an experienced person.

If you are not experienced in repairing dishwashers, you should not dare to do this. If the warranty is valid, you can also send it to the local KitchenAid service point. On the other hand, if you don’t know how to reset kitchenAid dishwasher, it is better to call an experienced repairman.
